Everything below explains what happens after you paste a link, including where availability depends on the source.
Download YouTube videos in HD, 2K, and 4K
TubeMP4 reads the formats available for the exact YouTube URL before it shows a download choice. Standard MP4 downloads can include 360p, 480p, 720p, and 1080p, while 1440p and 2160p appear for Pro members when the original upload and current provider expose those streams.
Higher resolutions are never created by stretching a smaller file. If a source tops out at 1080p, TubeMP4 reports 1080p as the ceiling instead of presenting a fake 4K option.
Convert YouTube to MP3 or M4A
Choose an audio output when the format list includes MP3 or M4A. This is useful for authorized copies of lectures, interviews, podcasts, and your own music uploads when you do not need the video track.
The available codec and bitrate come from the extraction provider and source media. TubeMP4 shows the real returned option rather than attaching a quality label the file cannot support.
Download YouTube Shorts without changing tools
Public youtube.com/shorts links use the same downloader as standard watch and youtu.be URLs. Paste the link, confirm the detected video, and choose one of the returned outputs.
TubeMP4 does not add its own watermark. Availability can still change when a Short is private, deleted, region-restricted, or requires a signed-in YouTube session.
Make a Clip, GIF, or Meme from a YouTube link
Use the Clip, GIF, or Meme tabs in the downloader to send the same YouTube URL into TubeMP4 Studio. For YouTube sources, TubeMP4 first prepares the media through the YouTube provider, then the render service trims or converts the selected range and stores the finished export temporarily in Cloudflare R2.
The result is delivered through a time-limited signed link, so the render server does not have to stream the finished file to every user.
What works — and what may not
TubeMP4 is designed for public YouTube videos, public Shorts, and unlisted videos that remain accessible from their link. Formats depend on what YouTube and the configured provider can retrieve at that moment.
- Private, deleted, members-only, or login-required videos are not supported.
- Active livestreams and scheduled Premieres may need to finish before a normal file is available.
- Age, region, copyright, or provider restrictions can reduce the available formats.
- Only download media you own, have permission to save, or are otherwise legally allowed to use.

Pro members can select 1440p or 2160p when the source video and current YouTube provider expose that quality. TubeMP4 does not upscale a lower-resolution source.

Does TubeMP4 keep a permanent copy of my file?
No permanent media library is created. Rendered Studio exports use temporary object storage and time-limited signed download links; account history stores source and job metadata rather than a permanent public video file.
