How delivery works

Prepared upstream.
Rendered once.
Delivered from R2.

  1. 1
    Source preparation

YouTube links use the YouTube provider first. Other supported public sources go to the media service directly.

  2. 2
    Timed rendering

The render service processes only the requested range instead of making your browser upload the full source.

  3. 3
    Signed download

The completed export is uploaded to R2 and delivered through a temporary signed URL.

Studio FAQ

Before you create an export

How does YouTube clipping work?

TubeMP4 first prepares the selected public YouTube source through the YouTube provider. The render service then trims the requested range and uploads the completed file to temporary R2 storage.

How long can an export be?

MP4 clips can be up to 60 seconds. GIF and Meme exports can be up to 10 seconds to keep rendering time and file size practical.

What does the subtitle tool export?

The subtitle tool exports an available native caption track as SRT or VTT. It does not generate speech-to-text when the source has no accessible caption track.

Where is the finished file stored?

Rendered Clip, GIF, and Meme files use temporary Cloudflare R2 storage and a time-limited signed download link. TubeMP4 does not create a permanent public media library.
